Da-da-da-daaaa! Sound the fanfares, throw the confetti, One Foot Down the Rabbit Hole turns 500!

Yes, I can't believe I've been crapping on for a whole five hundred posts. And I can't believe that you have stayed around to let me do it for that long! If you're a reader, but have never commented before, I think now is your chance. Perhaps I could do a Shauny and conduct a census. Somehow I don't think I'll get 100 comments though.

When I first started this blog, all those years ago, I probably looked a little something like this:



Well, not exactly like that, because that photo was taken a year or two earlier at my year 12 formal, but it was the closest I had saved on my computer. Can't you just see the innocence simply pouring out of every pore?

Oh how things have changed...



Now I'm starring in bad beer ads!

No, not really. But with pots like that perhaps I should start. I'm in need of a new part time job...

The younger, innocent blogger in me was prone to long, rambling, poorly grammatically constructed posts. It's rather embarassing actually. I recommend you don't read archives before about 2005.

The innocent Erica had a habit of writing posts in an eternally happy, bubbly tone. Even when things were not going so well, she still natters about leg warmers and the moon, and then suddenly transcribes depressing song lyrics that hint how she is really feeling. Corrupted Erica just blurts everything out.

This blog has tracked my life for over three years now. From the naive, innocent Erica, to the confused and directionless Erica, and all the very significant events that followed.

There have been celebrity crushes and crushes from afar, as well as discussions and debates on men, anniversaries, dates, daydreams, frustration and cake.

I have talked about flashing and my breasts, as well as been mistaken for a porn star.

I have been clumsy, and uncoordinated, and hungover, and sleep deprived.

And there is my family. Here and there, and there and here. And here and here and here as well.

There is my childhood; dying and damper and Melbourne summers.

There has also been music.

And then there is the rain. I love the rain.

I think I should thank people. I should thank AJ for introducing me to blogging. All my friends (real life and internet) for their comments, and all those lurkers who don't say much but who I see in my stat counter. Won't you say hello?
